I just started researching intuitive eating and the division of responsibility when I found this online course. How To Positively Navigate Picky Eating


This course taught me how to positively navigate picky eating with my three year old son. By implementing the Division of Responsibility, we have taken the stress and pressure off of mealtimes. Suzanne Dietrich

Suzanne Dietrich (she/her) is the owner of Gut Instincts Nutrition Counselling, operated out of Waterloo & Guelph, Ontario. She is a weight inclusive dietitian and a Certified Intuitive Eating Counsellor. She practices from a Health At Every Size® perspective. She specializes in intuitive eating, eating disorder recovery and gut health. She has been a dietitian for 10 years, working in primary health care for 8 years before committing solely to her own practice. She has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Food and Nutrition from Ryerson University. Before beginning her nutrition career path Suzanne received her BA in Social Development Studies from the University of Waterloo and worked/volunteered in the non-profit sector for 10 years. She's the Mom of two boys – one highly energetic, the other a deep-thinker! Suzanne believes that all foods fit and all bodies fit. She helps her clients unfold their own definition of health and to develop a way of eating that takes into account nutrition but just as importantly access, time, life situation/trauma, health conditions, financial ability, food skills, sustainability, preference and pleasure.

Jay Baum

Jennifer (Jay) Baum is a Registered Dietitian based in Toronto, Canada. She is the owner of Pommetta Nutrition, a private practice that focuses on infant, toddler, and family nutrition. Jay received her B.Sc. in Food, Nutrition, and Health from the University of British Columbia and completed her Dietetic Internship with the Fraser Health Authority in BC. She practices from an intuitive eating approach with an emphasis on eating competence. Before becoming a dietitian, Jay was a pastry chef. She graduated from the Dubrulle International Culinary Institute in Vancouver, where she completed both the French Culinary Arts and Pastry Programs. She is also mama to two boys - a 3 year old and a 7 year old. Jay combines her motherhood experience, nutrition education, and culinary knowledge to help families implement simple and practical solutions to meal preparation and cooking that makes it possible to meet their nutritional needs and mealtime goals.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What if I can't attend the Live Coaching Calls?

A: No problem. There will be a replay available within 48 hours. The Live Coaching Calls are at 8pm EST on Tuesdays. There will be lots of opportunity to submit questions ahead of time, which we will make sure to answer during the calls. The replay will also be time stamped so it will be easy to find the answer to your question.

Q: Can my parenting partner join the course as well?

A: Absolutely! We love to have co-parents, caregivers, grandparents etc participate. Really any one who spends a lot of time feeding your kids. You can have them watch the online lessons, they can join you in the live calls (even if they are at a different physical location), and they can also become members in the Private Facebook group.

Q: Will my extended benefits cover this course?

A: Maybe. It depends where you are located and whether or not your benefits cover Registered Dietitian or Nutrition Services. We can issue an official receipt but you will need to check with your individual insurance provider.

Q: How much time will I need per week to spend on the course?

A: We suggest blocking off 1-3 hours of time per week to watch the videos and do the self-reflection exercises. You will also need 1 hour to attend the Live Coaching Calls or watch the replay. So, a minimum of 2 hours.

Q: How is this program different than working with you (Jay or Suzanne) 1:1?

A: The cost is different. You are paying $550 for the course but would be paying over $1000 to work with us 1:1 for the same amount of time. The course will give you an opportunity to look at some of the material from a different view point so it may actually be a good add-on service for some of you who are working with us 1:1. In the course you also have the benefit of being part of a supportive online community where you can connect with other parents.

Q: How much access will I get to Jay and Suzanne?

A: You will have 6 Live Sessions that are 1-hour in length. You can also ask questions in the Facebook group at any time and We will monitor the group M-F at least once daily. We are also very responsive to emails. Basically, for the 6 weeks of the course you will have daily ongoing access to us. After the course is finished you will continue to have access to the Facebook group and the Course Modules.
